Recently I received a comment that requested a closet essentials post. As always I love recommendations, because like everyone else I always need new ideas, and inspiration. So, today I am sharing my top 5 closet must haves! 1. Basic Tees: I honestly think it's totally except able to buy your favorite simple tee in ten different colors. A good tee is the basis to layering, therefore you need every color possible. I linked some of my favorites, but definitely recommend checking out Brandy Melville for many more simple basic tops. Long Sleeve Basic Tees Short Sleeve Basic Tees Brandy Melville Website 2. Graphic Tees I think having a good three graphic tees is an essential, especially if your in a rush, and don't have time to come up with an outfit. Luckily they are coming back into style and more socially except able to wear out in town. What I love is the fact I can throw on some jeans and a graphic tee and be out the door in no time. I linked a couple of my favorites below:) Kale Graphic Tee Lace Up Led Zeppelin Graphic Tee Rolling Stones Graphic Tee More Love, Less Hate Graphic Tee 3. Jeans I know this is a pretty essential item for all closets, but I recommend to have one pair of white, black, and blue jeans. These three colors go with just about anything, so they certainly are a closet essential. Classic High Rise Blue Jeans Classic Black Jeans Classic Blue Jeans Classic White Jeans 4. One Layering Piece Whether this is a cardigan, or a sweatshirt it's always easy to throw something over a simple tee and jeans, and look some what put together. Here are a few of my favorites:) Tan Cardigan White Cardigan Rose Hoodie 5. One formal Dress You never know when a interview, or date may pop up. That's why it's always smart to keep a sophisticated but also modern dress hanging in the back of your closet1 Trust me one day it will come in handy. High Neck Dress XOXO,
Classy Abbie I'm here for all you guys or girls who need ideas for gifts for all the ladies out there. I know the holiday season can be stressful trying to find the perfect item for everyone in our life. Today I put together my favorites from all different price ranges. XOXO,
Classy Abbie This year we headed over to a good family friends house to eat turkey and celebrate the holiday. The dress was comfy casual so I opted for this look. OUTFIT: Grey Sweater Blue Jeans (similar) Tan/Brown Boots Make-Up Look: I took the Pink Champagne LORAC Palette and used this for my eyes and contour. Then used my Revlon Foundation , which I find pretty comparable to the Two Faced Foundation. Next I used my ALL time favorite concealer by Maybelline. Then I took my eyeliner by Urban Decay and used this on the top of my eyelid. To finish this look off I used my go-to mascara by Benefit. Hair: I used my 32mm NuMe Wand, to get the perfect light curls. Then I took the two sections surrounding my face and pulled them back keeping them stable with a clip, you could always use a rubber band. xoxo,
Classy Abbie THANK YOU! After all it is Thanksgiving, which is a day we celebrate and give thanks to all of our love ones. I couldn't go throughout today without thanking YOU whomever may be reading this post right now. Whether your new to reading my blog, or have been a dedicated reader for a while. THANK YOU, you don't know how much it means to get those sweet comments that cheer up my week, or to see new followers on Instagram, or even my family and friends who show complete support in whatever I do. Thank YOU! Now go give thanks, and eat lots!
xoxo, Classy Abbie Go for a nature walk.
When I say this I don't actually mean go on a walk in the woods. Although you could do that , you can also just take ten minutes and walk around your neighborhood, or even head over to your favorite park for a casual stroll. Either way take a couple minutes to breath, and appreciate your surroundings. Trust me it works:) Do something you love. You can take an hour, or a whole day. When you need to chill find something that you love or enjoy doing and make time to do so. For me I love shopping, so when I'm feeling stressed I head to the mall. Trust me it may be bad for my bank account, but every once in a while it's worth it. For others that may be reading, or playing a sport. Whatever it is take time away from school work, or work in general to do things you love. Stretch. Trust me I know how cliché this sounds, but it works! Even if you have five minutes throughout the day take a couple of minutes and stretch. It releases tension and leaves you feeling refreshed and ready to conquer whatever the day brings you. Use essential oils. I recently just started using essential oils, and have fallen in love. I currently have three for headache, de-stress, and sleep. All you have to do is rub some on the back of your wrists, inside of your ankles, and the side of your upper jaw. I will have my favorite brand linked below. Favorite essential oil Organize your space. Sometimes if the space around us is cluttered or not organized, that can make us feel the same. In order to ensure that doesn't happen I recommend taking 10-15 minutes each night before bed to pick up the space around you. XOXO, Classy Abbie This year my main goal was to try something new. That something new for me is yoga. When I used to take ballet at my dance studio, we would do yoga for a class each first Thursday of the month. My love for it definitely began there. Personally I find it extremely relaxing and a way where I can just breathe and let my mind rest. Whether I am taking a yoga class with my friend, or just doing it in my room it's extremely relaxing and peaceful. My point being try something new every day take a risk because you never know what you may fall in love with. Even if for you it isn't yoga, maybe it's fishing, or baking, whatever it may be take risks because if we don't try new things we won't find out our interests and dislikes. XOXO, Classy Abbie Our first interview is a pretty interesting one to say the least. I am inspired by this person on how she manages such a busy fun career and a family all at once. Pretty amazing if you ask me. Let's hop into getting to know exactly what Emily's career consists of. The Interview: 1. What school did you go to? Emily is a very proud University of South Carolina alumni. This college is very special to Emily as this is the place she met her husband. 2.What is your degree in? Emily's degree is in Marine Science. 3. What was your first job out of college? Her first years out of college Emily had two internships, one was with a prestigious congressman, and the second was with John Warner, who was in the Senate at the time. 4.Can you give us a brief description of your job now? Emily describes her work as a consultant. She mostly helps people solve hard problems. These include things such as disaster reconstruction, and climate change issues. 5. If you had to describe your job in three words what would those three words be? Emily described her job as intense, lots of problem solving, and results. 6. What is your favorite part about your job? Her favorite part is getting to know different kinds of people, and programs. Another favorite part of her job is getting to solve each problem. She describes it like a puzzle, putting each piece together until you figure out your end result. 7. Do you travel for your job? As Emily said "YES!!!". Traveling is a huge part to Emily's job. She often travels to DC, and San Diego, California. Emily knows everything about airports, due to how much she travels. 8. Where is your favorite place to travel for work? Her favorite place would have to be Southern California. 9. What is your favorite thing to do in California? Emily's favorite thing to do in California, even though most the time she's in meetings, would be getting to get out and look at some of the problems she's trying to solve. Another one is getting to try the different kinds of food California has to offer. 10. If you could tell a person one thing about your job what would that be? If Emily could tell a person one thing about her job that would be the fact that she spends a lot of her time translating science to people who aren't scientists. She is like the bridge between the customer and scientist . 11. What is the biggest challenge about your job? The biggest challenge Emily says is that she has to deal with several different opinions, and filter through all of them to come up with one result. Classy Abbie's three questions: 1. What is your favorite thing to do in your free time? Emily enjoys scrapbooking and taking photos in her free time, which is very rare. 2. How would you describe your style? Emily describes her style as "DC suit". When she's in DC, it's suit and heels, where in California they are more laid back with flip flops and shorts. So she has to find a balance between professional and casual wear for California. 3. Do you have any favorite stores? Emily enjoys shopping at Nordstrom and Ann Taylor. I am ever so grateful for this opportunity and can't thank Mrs. W. enough for being willing to do this. Stay tuned for more interviews coming soon!
xoxo, Classy Abbie Mannnn, does it feel good to get back to blogging! To say I've been busy would be a complete understatement. Anyways enough of that banter, let's get into what my weekend consisted of. First off while I've been away my sister headed to college back in August, which let me just say was about the hardest thing I have had to do in a while. This weekend she came home, so for sure I was excited. If anything since my sister has gone to college it has made me appreciate the moments we do get together a little more than usual. Friday we headed to my High School football game.(one of my favorite parts of high school) So my night was filled with tons of laughs, and just about the prettiest sunset ever. Saturday we had a close family friend's wedding, which we were Jr. Bridesmaids in. Of course we had to get matching dresses! To say we had a blast would be an understatement. A fun night spent with my family, is just what this week called for. Sunday was spent watching movies and lots of popcorn of course!!! What did your weekend consist of?! XOXO, Classy Abbie Sunset on Friday ^^^
For those of you who don't know last week I headed to Disney for a magical family spent vacation. Which may I add, was very well needed! Anyways it was certainly quit magical, and very tiring at the same time!!! Our days started at 8am rushing to the bus stop so we wouldn't miss the monorail! If you know me you for sure know I take forever to get ready... like it's seriously an issue lol! It's all good tho I simply just started my day a bit earlier. Any who for those of you who may not be quit familiar with Disney or how the resorts work, here's some back round info to help you better understand. First off, we stay at the Shades of Green. Which is a military resort for all men and women in the armed services and their families. I am forever grateful for my dads service in the Navy, and continue to pray daily for all the men and women protecting our country. I can remember staying there since I was very young, every time we went to Disney. It truly holds tones of memories, that me and my family cherish. Each resort on Disney property has its own bus service which brings you to the ticket and transportation center, in which you can access the monorail that then takes you to certain parks. On the other hand some busses take you directly to certain parks. Confusing, I know, it's just how it works. Our first day was in Magic Kingdom. After all you have to start and end your vacation with the most magical park! Here is where my sister and I rode Space Mountain just about 10 times, and I ate about three mickey bars! Our next day was spent in Epcot, with hopping to Animal Kingdom later in the day. Which my favorite new ride hands down was the Frozen one that opened up about a month ago. Totally worth the wait! My favorite part about Epcot is probably the mini countries. Its pretty awesome getting to experience different countries in one place. We had lunch in France, which is always amazing!!! After we spent our day in Epcot, we headed to Animal Kingdom. Where I tackled my fear of the Mt. Everest roller coaster. May have gotten a little shaky before hand, but ended up riding it twice:) Our third day was a rest up day. Which is where we take a break from the parks for a day. If you didn't know they redid Disney Springs, now the home to any store you can dream of ! After eating at Chef Mickeys, favorite restaurant ever, we headed to Disney Springs and spent the rest of our evening shopping. Our fourth day was spent at Hollywood Studios, and Epcot. Absolutley LOVE the Star Wars ride in Hollywood Studios!!! We finished off our night eating dinner in Germany. Which was a first for our family! I would have never known I like German food until now! Our fifth day was spent at Magic Kingdom! Eating more mickey bars, and for my sister dole whips, riding our favorite rides and making even more memories. This was our last day at the parks, so definitely a bittersweet day. I have been blessed to be coming to Disney since my first birthday, and the feeling of leaving is so hard. I will probably never stop crying every time I have to say goodbye. The feeling you get when arriving to Disney to when you leave is truly magical. It's the one place on earth I can truly put all my worries, and stresses except my fear of heights aside, and have fun! Since saying goodbye is too hard we always end up adding a day to our vacation. We spent this day at the pool, and ended with more shopping and a little ice cream in Disney Springs ( I couldn't help myself)!!! Over all I had a fantastic time with my family, and took tones of pictures to share! I hope all of you reading have or get to experience Disney at least once in your lifetime. You will be forever changed for the better:) This of course wouldn't be a Disney post without a Disney quote!
" There's a great big beautiful tomorrow...shining at the end of every day" xoxo, Classy Abbie Plan: This is by far the most important step to packing for a trip. Start three days before leaving for your destination, and work on strictly making lists such as shoes, tops, pants/shorts/skirts, dresses, accessories. Style Outfits: After, or while planning create different looks for each day. I recommend looking at your schedule while doing this. Obviously you don't want to wear a formal dress while going sightseeing. So looking at your schedule or itinerary for each day is super important so you don't over or under dress. Pack Simple Pieces: I totally recommend packing simple pieces such as a plain tee. By doing this, it can give you more versatility when choosing your outfit for the day. As simple pieces are easier to mix and match. Roll instead of Fold: If you are anything like me and HATE wrinkles this is definitely for you. Number one if you roll your clothes instead of folding them when packing it gives you less chances of having wrinkly clothes when you arrive at your destination. Number two is you will have more room in your suit case for shoes and if you are an over packer, like me, this leaves you more room for extra clothes. Only bring what you need: Trust me, I am the queen of over packing for trips. I never know what I am going to want to wear. The important thing to remember is that you don't need ten outfits for a three day trip. Keeping your wardrobe simple while traveling can help you with this issue. Don't wait last minute: Biggest tip I can give! Waiting last minute to pack for a vacation is the worst decision you can make. It adds unnecessary stress, and anxiety that's not needed when preparing for your vacation. Not saying I personally have never done it, I have and certainly learned my lesson. If you are like me, I will have nightmares of forgetting things a couple days leading up to my trip, I know kind of weird. At the same time it helps me to get on top of my packing game and make lists so my nightmares don't become reality. xoxo,
Classy Abbie 1. Wake Up Early I highly recommend doing this to get the most out of your vacation. After all I know it is a vacation and we all love our sleep, but if you can get up early one or two days I definitely recommend it:) Whether you go outside to watch the sunrise or go exploring getting the perfect start to your day will make your vacation even more enjoyable. 2. Keep Your Essentials With You This will definitely save you if you are flying to your travel destination. Things such as phone chargers, cameras, and make-up, and an extra set of clothes. Just in case your luggage gets lost, or you need one of your essentials quick. I recommend finding a good travel backpack or bag and using it for all your essentials. Here is my favorite travel backpack! 3. Smile, LOTS Trust me you will feel and make other people happier just by a simple hi, and smile. 4. Have Extra Cash With You At ALL Times This is especially important if you are traveling over seas. You never know when your credit card may not work. So just to be on the safe side carry extra cash for emergency situations! 5. Buy Something You Typically Wouldn't Splurge! You are after all on vacation! I think it's good to splurge once or twice when on vacation. Buy that purse you have always wanted or those sunglasses you have seen everyone wearing. Whatever that "splurge" purchase is just make sure you really love it:) 6. Take Pictures, LOTS Whether you take some snaps from your phone, or your professional camera, I can't express the memories you will have looking back on them! I personally love my polaroid, and never leave it at home when I'm traveling!!! Here is my polaroid camera. 7. Patience This is so important to have when traveling. If you have this you will more likely have less stress while on your vacation. As hard as it can be sometimes, stay calm and move on! Whether your taxi is late, or your hotel room isn't ready have patience and make the best out of each situation. 8. Laugh, LOTS I think this is the best advice I can give, and that is to laugh LOTS. Let's be real laughing can make any situation better! 9. Journal Yes, I know you are probably like what, I don't have time for that. I think along with taking lots of pictures journaling can be something cute to look back on! Whether you get up a little early to journal your experiences good and bad, or you stay up a few extra minutes late, I think its so very important to do:) 10. Don't Be Afraid/ Step Outside Your Comfort Zone I can't tell you how many times on vacation I have stepped outside my comfort zone, and for some reason I always end up happier when I do so. Whether it's riding the tallest roller coaster ,when your deathly scared of heights, or riding that zip line through the forest. I think it's always good to push ourselves. Now I will say don't do it to the point where you get anxiety over it. Just simple things can make a huge difference. 11. Enjoy The Company This tip is for those of you traveling with friends, or family. Enjoy the company, even if you are traveling alone. Enjoy the alone time and take time to do something for yourself. Either way spend time talking and just simply enjoying the people you are experiencing your vacation with. 12. Turn Off Your Electronics Turn off all of your electronics for one day! Enjoy time just observing your vacation spot. I can't express enough how many benefits come from being off social media for a day or two, even just for an hour! I'm definitely not an expert on traveling but these are just a few of my tips, and ways I enjoy my vacation to the best of my ability!!!
xoxo, Classy Abbie So this past year as all of you probably know Kylie Jenner launched her Lip Kit line. TRUST me, I was like every other girl, I couldn't wait to get my hands on one. Although it took me some time, I am happy to say I finally got to try out two lip kits! Posie, and KoKo K! I'm literally obsessed, and haven't gone a day without wearing one of them!!! May I just say they last a good 24hrs, including when you eat! To me that's the biggest pain when your lip product gets messed up after eating, s/o to Kylie for that!!! So for me 10/10 definitely recommend. The only thing for some people may be the dryness of the lip product, but that is because it is after all a matt lip paint. So my mom wasn't a huge fan when she tried it , but then again she's not used to matt lipsticks:) I can't wait to try more, and I will be sure to notify you when I do! I love the fact that Kylie is trying to make it a little bit easier to get a hold of one of her lip kits, and is currently trying to make sure you can purchase one anytime every day. xoxo,

Classy Abbie CA'S Beauty Favorites:Cetaphil: I have recently switched my facial washes, and find this one, by far, cleans my skin best.
Roller Lash Mascara: This is my all time favorite mascara. It lifts and gives my eyelashes length without clumping. This I can't seem to get in my old drugstore mascaras. Born This Way Foundation: I have three words for this foundation, I LOVE IT!!! For summer I wanted a lighter foundation, to get more of the natural look. What I love about this foundation is the more you apply the more coverage you will get, but at the same time if I want a more natural glow then I can simply apply less. So by far 10/10 for this foundation, it's totally worth the price:) Soap and Glory Sugar Body Wash and Scrub: I have recently been using both the scrub and lotion and may I just say they have definitely become one of my summer essentials!!! Namaste Tarte Lip Paint: So we all know Matt lipsticks are in and by far this is the closets thing I have been able to find to the Kylie Jenner Lip Kit. 10/10 recommend:) Nume Curling Wand: This wand by far has given me the curls I have been looking for years for. Tresemme Shampoo+Conditioner: This is my all time favorite shampoo and conditioner It helps replenish my hair since I use heat often. Loving Tan Deluxe Bronzing Mousse: To say I love this tanning mousse is an understatement. I used this tanning mousse for my graduation and it gives me flawless results! Personally I think it looks and works better than getting a spray tan, and saves tones of money! All I do is put the tanning mousse on before I go to sleep and wake up looking like I had just spent a week somewhere tropical! A tan has never been so easy to get! 10/10 recommend! Natural Bronzer By Rimmel London: So to go with my tan, and just practically every day during summertime, I love to have a "go to" bronzer, that most importantly looks natural! Did I mention it's waterproof?! Major plus during summertime!!! Instant Age Rewind Cancealer By Maybelline New York: By far this is my favorite concealer. Did I mention it's under $10. Urban Decay Eye Liner: First off let me just say I HATE when my eyeliner runs, which happens with most of my drugstore eyeliners during summertime. So when I found this I definitely had high hopes, but am happy to say I was not disappointed! Not only does this eyeliner not smudge or run, it stays on all day:) Lorac To Go Pro Pallet: I love this pallet, and may I just say its perfect for traveling?! I am very excited to take it to Disney with me in July!!! XOXO, Classy Abbie So I was recently informed about this company and I couldn't help but share this company with all of you!
